Google Play requires every app that supports account creation to also
offer a way to request account deletion from outside the app. This page
is that route.
The fastest way — delete it yourself, instantly
- Open GymPets
- Go to the ME tab
- Scroll to ACCOUNT
- Tap DELETE ACCOUNT and confirm
This happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Request deletion by email
If you no longer have the app installed, email
hello@gympets.app
from the email address you signed in with, with the subject
"Delete my GymPets account". Requests are actioned
within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Permanently, in this order, before your sign-in account is closed:
- the messages you posted in the chat of every league you are still
in
- your place in those leagues, so the slot is freed for somebody
else
- your friends list and your inbox
- your backup: workouts, sets and personal records; food and water logs
and custom foods; your pet, wallet, streaks, goals and preferences; your
daily step totals
- your public profile — display name, invite code, pet, trophies, streak
and step totals
- your invite code's entry in the code directory
- your sign-in account
The order is deliberate. Your sign-in is what proves the rest is yours, so
it goes last: if any earlier step cannot be completed, the app stops there,
leaves your account alone and tells you, rather than closing the account
and leaving data behind that nobody — including you — could ever reach
again. Pressing DELETE ACCOUNT again picks up where it
stopped.
What is kept, and why
- Chat messages in leagues you had already left — a
league's chat is readable only by its members, so once you leave a crew
the app can no longer reach what you wrote there, to delete it or
otherwise. Messages in leagues you are still in when you delete your
account are deleted. Email us if you need an older one
removed. What stays, stays for as long as that league does.
- Your subscription record at RevenueCat — RevenueCat
holds your GymPets account identifier alongside your purchase status.
Deleting your account detaches your phone from that record, but nothing
in the app can erase it; removing it takes a server-side request, which
we will make within 30 days of you asking. Until then RevenueCat holds it
under its own retention schedule, not ours.
- Abuse reports — if you reported somebody, or
somebody reported you, that report is kept. It records who filed it and
the message complained of, and it is deliberately readable and
deletable by no user at all, including its author. It is not linked to
anything else we hold about you, and it is kept for up to 12 months from
the day it was filed, then deleted.
- The copy of you in another player's data — if
somebody added you as a buddy, their buddy list holds your name and
account identifier, and any friend request or battle result you sent
sits in their inbox. Those are their documents, in their own private
area, and your deletion does not reach into it. Their buddy list keeps
the name it saved when they added you, but there is nothing of yours
behind it any more. It is theirs to keep or delete, for as long as they
choose to.
- Purchase records — Google Play keeps a record of
transactions for legal, tax and refund purposes. We cannot delete
these, and neither can you; they are held by Google, not by GymPets, on
Google's own retention schedule.
- Crash reports — anonymous crash diagnostics
already collected expire automatically within 90 days.
- Feedback you sent us — a bug report or idea sent
from ME → FEEDBACK is a message addressed to us, and deleting
your account does not unsend it, any more than it unsends an email.
It is kept until we have acted on it and no longer than 12 months, and is
not linked to anything else we hold about you.
If you want any of the above removed as well, email
hello@gympets.app and we
will do it by hand.
Deleting your account does not cancel a GymPets+ subscription. Cancel
it in the Google Play Store under Payments &
subscriptions, otherwise billing continues.
